Lab data
Critical Jack potency: THC and CBD from only eight lab tests
In only eight tests, a very small sample, Critical Jack flower had a median total THC of 15.01%, with the middle half of results between 13.41% and 20.68% and the whole sample between 7.55% and 21.55%.1 CBD is low, and only one of the eight tests reported individual terpene values, too few for a terpene profile.1
Small sample: only 8 matched tests. Treat the figures on this page as indicative, not definitive.1
THC distribution
Total THC across 8 tests
THC by year
Too few tests per year to show a trend: no year has 20 or more tests (2016: 1, 2017: 3, 2020: 2, 2022: 2).1
THC by state
No state has 10 or more matched tests.
Terpene profile
Only 1 of the 8 matched tests report individual terpene values, too few for a profile (we chart terpenes reported by at least 10 tests).1

How published THC figures compare
Dinafem lists 15–20% THC and 0.01–0.2% CBD for its seeds, and its own lab reported 17.39% total cannabinoids and 2.567% total terpenes for one sample; total cannabinoids is not the same measure as total THC.2 Silent Seeds repeats 15–20%; SeedFinder’s copy of the breeder text says 14–18%.3,4 Strain databases publish a single figure: Leafly 20% THC (and 2% CBG), AllBud 20%, Wikileaf a highest test of 20.0%.5,6,7
In our small sample the highest result was 21.55% and 90% of tests fell below 21.33%, so the published 20% sits near the top of what only eight tests show rather than in the middle.1 Leafly lists terpinolene as the dominant terpene, followed by caryophyllene and pinene; our data cannot check that, because only one of the eight tests reported individual terpene values.1,5

Limits of this data
- Coverage is thin and dated. Massachusetts (4) and Michigan (4) supply all eight tests, dated 2016–2022 and spread too thinly over those years to read a trend. Oregon and Rhode Island results carry no product names and could not be matched.
- Two labs, two methods. One lab supplied 50.0% of these tests (2 labs in total). Of the eight totals, four were computed as Δ9-THC + 0.877 × THCA from the certificate and four were taken as reported, so we publish the median and the full range rather than a mean.
- We matched names strictly: 14 results under near-miss names, 12 of them flower, led by "Nature's Critical Jack #3" (10 results) and 3 products labelled "Critical Jack Herer", are excluded and counted, and duplicate certificates are removed.
- Terpenes and CBD are sparse: only one of the eight tests reported individual terpene values (Massachusetts), and 2 of the 4 tests that reported CBD found none, none reached 1%, and the highest was 0.20%. Michigan’s public results report neither CBD nor terpenes.
