Critical Jack effects: what people report

People most often describe Critical Jack as a daytime strain: Leafly lists focused, energetic and uplifted as its top effects, and Dinafem says its effect "fills you with energy and joy" and is more cerebral than physical. Anxious, dry mouth and dry eyes are the most-reported downsides.1,2

Energizing or sleepy?

Energizing, by every account: Leafly’s top three effects, AllBud’s "great day time strain", Dinafem’s "energy and joy" and Silent Seeds’ "energizing effect" all point the same way, with Weedmaps alone adding a warm, relaxing body side.1,2,3,4,6 The autoflowering line sold under the name is a different cross and is described by Dinafem as balanced, with "a very strong sensation of muscle relaxation".9

Why two batches can feel different

Potency varied widely in our very small sample: the eight tests ran from 7.55% to 21.55% total THC.10 SeedFinder’s growers describe two phenotypes, one stretched and sativa-leaning, one short and compact, and at least four seed companies sell a "Critical Jack", plus Delicious Seeds’ differently bred Critical Jack Herer (see genetics).7,11,12
